MLM Frustration Busters – You Are Not Alone

You Are Not Alone in Network Marketing

Soon Winter will be drawing to a close and the trees and flowers will be blooming. Most of us will start dreaming again about those family vacations we’d like to take and how nice it would be to be able to pay off those monthly bills in full every month.

Would you like to do something about it?

Now is the time to pick up the pace in working your Network Marketing business. I just found out that our brains are already wired to focus on 30-Day, 60-Day, and most of all, 90-Day Runs!

As a refresher, a Run is when you make an ‘advertising’ or promotion plan and you commit to completing all of the activities every day. It helps you build momentum and gets your face & link in front of a lot of eyeballs.

Are YOU Worth Your Time?

Spending your time on building yourself is one of the most valuable expenditures you will make in your lifetime! Have you ever heard of Your First Year in Network Marketing by Mark Yarnell?

I recently listened to an audio of him and here is a bit of what I learned:

Finish these old sayings…

  • “Money is the root of all ____”
  • “It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to pass through the gates of _____”
  • “It’s lonely at the _____”
  • “Some people are just in the right place at the right _____”
  • “Do not store up treasures on _______”

If you were able to finish these statements, then your brain is already programmed for negative paradigms about wealth. You are wired not to believe wealth is a good thing.

Read more of this article here.

Are you spending your time on reprogramming your mind to think and believe in your network marketing success? Make certain you are spending a set amount of time each day reading or listening to personal development material.

Business Management

Here we are, living already busy lives with barely enough time to get the laundry done. Then we got the bright idea to add building a business from home to our already busy schedules.

How on earth are we supposed to fit in those networking activities?

The answer may come in the disguise of a Reverse Calendar. This isn’t something you go buy at your local Home Office store. And you don’t need to download it off the internet.

  1. You grab a page in your Journal and start keeping track of all of your activities for an entire week.
  2. You write down everything…from when you get up, when you eat, when you are driving, running errands and watching TV. Include everything!
  3. At the end of the week, review what you have written down.

Keep an eye out for all of the times you are doing non-essential activities that you could give up. Watching television is an obvious one. Chatting it up with co-workers at lunch time is one time waster that might not be as apparent.

Once you have found all of those times you can give up your current activities, start planning business building activities in those time slots!

Prospecting Pointers

If you’ve found a 20 minute slot during say, lunchtime, that you can devote to your business, you might give Better Networker a try.

Before taking on networking activites on a site like Better Networker, please re-read chapter 10 in Success In 10 Steps, Focus Until Your Eyes Cross. It is very easy to get distracted by all the adds and pitching going on at sites like Better Networker. If you get too side tracked, you might as well go back to gossiping with the co-workers.

To hear all the How To steps to using Better Networker, here’s the Mentoring For Free Thursday Advertising training call I did.

Healthy Habits

Ever notice waking up feeling like your tank is empty or you’re just not feeling well? Is the first thing you drink in the morning your coffee?

Did you know when we wake up in the morning we are in a state of dehydration?

Give this a try…drink about 16 ounces of water when you wake up in the morning. Do this before your coffee or breakfast. Go on & get ready for your day and you just might start feeling like million bucks sooner than you can say cup o’ Joe!

Mental Cleanse

Imagine participating in a MasterMind Group that focuses directly on personal growth and building participants to become Leaders. How would it feel?

Your chance to find out is right here!

Skype…the business tool you can’t do without!

Most people who start a Network Marketing business, do so with a very limited budget.

Since Network Marketing is a networking business and requires a lot of personal and telephone contact, phone bills can really eat up a person’s budget.

There’s a great online tool that is FREE to download called Skype.  The web address is www.skype.com.skype

Skype allows you to talk FREE to other Skype users.

In my Network Marketing Business, just about everyone uses Skype, so instant messaging and talking within my team is free.

Skype is a much more well known tool outside of North America.  Most people you network with in other countries…the U.K., Australia, the Phillipines, Israel…just about anywhere…already have Skype accounts.

How great of a tool is Skype when you can call a client on the other side of the world for free?

You can buy Skype credits to use when you call from your computer to someone’s landline for about 2 cents a minute.

Instant messaging is convenient when you want or get a quick message to your team or clients.

You can also send large files via Skype that are too large for email programs.

Conference calling is another great feature Skype has.  You can have small team meetings, conduct 3-way calls, and 3-way in candidates for your business to training and company calls.

Last thing…you can do live video calls too.  The first time I used this feature was a video call with a Facebook friend I met from Australia.

Skype isn’t perfect, though.  Calls get dropped sometimes and sound or video quality isn’t always the best.  You also have to be very careful about calling cell phones.  The charges can be 50 cents a minute or more.

There are certainly other phone services available.  Skype is a smart choice for those just starting out in a network marketing business.  Making calls worldwide for FREE or for very little per minute rate is a fantastic budget saver!

My Skype ID is karen.j.miller.  If you’d like more information on no or low cost methods for operating your network marketing business, contact me.  I am always happy to help.

Wishing You a Lifetime of Success!

storytelling and your mlm success

A longtime Mentor and Successful MLM Business Man, Tom “Big Al” Schreiter, often teaches of the power of using Storytelling to help build your MLM Success.

When Networking with people you wish to make connections with, either as customers or business associates, telling a story helps break the ice.

A story…

  1. takes the focus off of the high pressure sales pitch,
  2. puts everyone on a more relaxed, personal level, and
  3. often helps to drive home an important point.

Let’s say, for instance, I was coaching you in an area of your personal development

You are having trouble focusing on your success. Many people important to you in your life have been nay-sayers, made negative remarks about your business venture, or simply have given you no support what-so-ever.

Discouraging, isn’t it?

To help boost you through these issues, I might tell you the following story…

A Bucket of Crabs
Who’s pulling you down?

{author unknown}

BucketofCrabs

Have you ever seen a bucket full of crabs? They pinch and pull as they struggle to climb over one another to reach the top of the bucket – to freedom.

Ask any fisherman and they’ll tell you that a bucket full of crabs doesn’t need a lid – they simply won’t escape.

Why? Well, it’s not impossible for a crab to climb to the top, and really if they worked together it would be quite easy. But crabs don’t work together

Instinctively crabs pull each other down-literally.

When one crab breaks away from the pack, reaching its pinchers toward the top of the bucket, the others promptly grab onto the escapee’s leg, pulling him back down. That crab is then pushed to the bottom of the pile and his dream of freedom is crushed. This is what we call the “crab mentality”.

People have a way of acting just like a bucket of crabs. Have you ever decided on a personal goal only to have someone in your life talk you out of it?

Do you have crabs in your life? A crab is…

  • The person who discourages you from going to trainings;
  • The person who scoffs when you mention your weight loss goals;
  • The person who snickers when you say you are going to work from home and make $5000/month or even $10,000/month and more.

The crab mentality says “If I can’t have it, then neither can you.” When you decide to do something different, to reach for a goal and to improve yourself, the crabs in your life will do their best to hold you back.

Keep Crabs at Bay: When crabs come snapping, remember the following:

  1. Ignore them: When someone in your life begins to pull you down with discouraging words, remember that you don’t have to listen. Don’t let them get into your head. Mentally tune them out or politely remove yourself from the situation. Who are they to tell you what you can or can’t achieve?
  2. Understand them: Ouch! Insults and put-downs hurt, especially when they come from people that we care about. So what is the deal? Why do your friends, co-workers and even your spouse turn into crabs when you decide to improve your life? Do they really hope that you don’t succeed? The truth is that crabs are thinking about themselves-not about you. They see you attempting to better yourself and to change your life. Whether they realize it or not, this scares them. If you better yourself will you still like them? Or will you leave them behind?
  3. You hold the power: Even the most persuasive crab doesn’t hold a candle to your iron will. When you are ready to change, and you’ve made up your mind without an inkling of doubt, then 90% of the work is done. Your mind is the most powerful tool at your disposal-don’t let a wimpy crab rob it from you.

Are you ready to make a positive change in your life? Don’t wait any longer. And don’t let a single crab talk you out of it!

Your Friend and Mentor,
Karen
