Famous Superstar Endorsement Means Squat in MLM

Oh dear….I feel a need to get on my soapbox, so ya’ll better listen up!

Sometimes I just need to speak up about something I think can cause a lot of grief for my fellow network marketers.

star

Every time I see someone shouting out about some famous superstar endorsing their MLM company’s product, and how THAT PROVES how wonderful their business opportunity is I just want to scream!

STOP!  STOP!  STOP!  DON’T GO THERE!

Companies who seek to put their credibility on the value of a famous star’s endorsement are more about hype and distracting prospect’s attention to glitz than the real business opportunity.

My friends, the ONLY WAY to evaluate an MLM business opportunity is to measure it up against the 5 Pillars.

Does the Company Management have Experience and Integrity?

Has the Company passed the “early failure” Time Line?

Is there a Reasonably Priced Remarkable Product?

Compensation Plan & Part-Timers?

Is there a System for Success?

Whenever someone presents me with an opportunity, I always ask for the Contract and Policies and Procedures.

Fully understanding these two documents is where your Network Marketing business is going to be built.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with Mr. or Ms. Famous Superstar.

They know nothing about how the average network marketer builds a business or networks…it sure isn’t by schmoozing!

Famous endorsers have their Business Agents make these deals for them based on how profitable the deal will be for the Super Star, NOT the network marketers who will be building the business.

Think about it…where do you think the company is getting the money to pay for the endorsement?

Do you think it is going to come out of corporate’s budget or out of the pay plan?

Hmmmm….

OK, I’m climbing down now.

Visualization for the Network Marketer

Every network marketer knows the value and power of visualization in achieving our goals.

When in business for ourselves, only having contact with our business partners via the internet, can leave us feeling isolated.

The tools we employ to keep ourselves motivated and focused are crucial to our success.

Writing our purpose, our why, our self-talk, and identifying the things that are important to us are how we develop dream boards.

Me and My house“Me and My Dream House”

Posting a visual representation of our dreams and goals on a bulletin board or on a desktop slideshow are easy ways to make a dream board that can be seen all day.

One of the keys to successfully achieving your goals and realizing your dreams is to set aside meditation time each day, preferable first thing in the morning.

If that timing doesn’t work for you, meditate while you are in the shower.

My Dreams and Wishes for my Family”

  • Find a quite spot, without distractions.
  • Close your eyes.
  • Get a mental picture of your goal/dream in your mind.
  • Most importantly, focus on how you will feel when you have that goal in your hands.
  • Imagine that you are already there.
  • Do not think about how you will get there.
  • Just focus on the awesome emotions you will be experiencing when it is a reality.
  • Meditate for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • At least once a day, twice is better.
  • And remember, don’t worry about how you will get there.
  • Worry will only cause you added anxiety and fear of failure…the emotions that will surely stand in the way of your success!

Once you create the habit of visualizing early in the day, start visualizing at bedtime.

After you’ve tucked the kids (or pets) into bed, kissed your significant other goodnight, and turned out the lights, focus on those goals!

Don’t think about your day or what you have to do tomorrow.  Only think about your dreamboard and feel what it will be like once you are in possession of those things.

hawaii “Hawaii, part of my dream vacation plans!”

I created an album on Facebook to share my dream board. This takes courage since some of the pictures represent very personal growth goals and dreams for my family.

To declare my intentions to achieve these goals to the “Universe” is an important step to accepting the abundance of receiving them.

I also want to share my dream goals with others who may still be struggling with making their own dream boards and can get some ideas from mine.

At home, I have some of my goals and dreams on the wall by my desk.

I also have 2 slideshows on my computer desktop.  I have Windows Vista which has the feature of a sidebar.  One of the gadgets is a slideshow and you can have as many as will fit.

One of the slideshows are my personal and family dreams and goals and the other slideshow are my specific goals and visualizations for my business.

I also say with my meditation a self talk I learned from Dr. Wayne Dyer:

“I honor my worthiness to receive God’s blessings and abundance.”

Energetic Network Marketer Learns 5 Secrets to Writing Headlines from Soggy Oregon

All Network Marketers use headlines in their advertisements. The principles behind a good headline needs to be used in all subject lines, article titles, and even at the top of your profiles.

The headline is what catches your audience’s attention. It has to peak curiosity and arouse emotions enough to get your audience to read further.

The ultimate goal is to create enough interest to get them to “click through” to your website and sign up for your offer.

Curiosity-and-Interest-Curious-George

The secret formula to writing headlines is to create a character, usually yourself, and include the following components.

1. Personality

2. Odd Number

3. Benefit

4. Occupation

5. Location

Personality is going to be a descriptive adjective: energetic, busy, loyal, intuitive, ingenious.

Odd Number can be an age, years, items, etc.

Benefit is the good thing that awaits anyone who “clicks through” (success, endless leads).

Occupation is what the character (or you) does for a living (butcher, baker, candlestick maker).

Location is where the character lives: L.A., New York, the sticks, on a mountain top, Timbuktu.

Play around with this formula to suit whatever you are marketing.

  • Start by writing down something for each component.
  • Then rearrange the components to create your headline sentence.

Once you have your headline written, go to the Advanced Marketing Institute and enter your headline into the free headline analyzer.

It will give you an Emotional Marketing Value analysis and rate it for a predominant emotion classification (Intellectual, Empathetic, Spiritual).

Each classification tells how the category of words work and who is the best target audience.

Most professional copywriters get a score between 30% – 40% EMV words with the best coming in at 50% – 70%.

Using the Headline Formula, I wrote the headline for this post. When I entered it into the AMI headline analyzer, I got a score of 50% EMV and the predominant emotion of empathetic.

I do not have any professional marketing education. I learned this skill from a Mentoring For Free training.
