MLM Success with a Free Mentor and an Apple Orchard

Does it ever seem like you could be so much more successful if onlywizardwithcrystalball you had a crystal ball to show you everything you needed to know?

There is so much to know when you are building an MLM business from home, especially when you are using the internet.

These days, technology and the web are changing almost every day.  Just look at how Facebook changes its platform so often.

Most people don’t have the money to invest in costly programs or high fee mentors.

The Mentoring For Free program offers fresh and updated training on how to build your Network Marketing business from home using no or low cost methods.

Your Mentors serve you for free with no agenda.

But WHY do Network Marketers need to align themselves with a MasterMind group in order to be successful?

We have been discussing this very issue on our Mental Cleanse calls, most recently with Chapter 5, Specialized Knowledge, in Think and Grow Rich.

My fellow mentor, Ken Klemm,  submitted a brilliant lesson to explain this principle using a fabulous Apple Orchard story.

Enjoy!

Apple_Orchard

“So, You want to go into the apple business?

GREAT! Where will you go to learn all about apples, how
to plan an orchard, the tools You will need, and where
to get them and how to use them, etc?Is there an Apple University? Well, there are many fine
schools who have an agriculture department – and lots
of books available.

Maybe You already have an apple orchard, but You’re
having some challenges.

Where will You turn for help? Visit some orange groves
in Florida? Nice vacation maybe, but it’s apples and
oranges!

What about pineapples? Kind of SOUNDS like apples…
No?

How about the U.S. Apple Association? …Better.

Maybe You should look to Your local state apple growers
association. After all, growing apples in Washington is
probably a little different than growing them in
Wisconsin or Virginia.

But why would other apple growers share their tips and
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE with You? Why would they
cooperate with a competitor?

Because there is a big demand for apples and the things
people make with them. Helping You with Your orchard
makes the apple industry stronger.

If something goes really wrong at Your orchard, it
could adversely affect the industry in the entire
region, possibly even nationwide. Consumer health,
confidence, etc.

So, these folks are Your BEST source for help. Not only
are they actually DOING what You want to do, they also
have a vested INTEREST in Your SUCCESS.

The only place apple growers compete is at local,
county, and state fairs.

Mentoring For Free is the MLM growers association.

Don’t want a big, massive orchard? Just a few trees?
GREAT! We will help You too – ESPECIALLY You. Because,
actually, YOU ARE THE HOPE FOR THE WORLD!

Your Friend and Servant,
Ken Klemm – Florida, USA

P.S. By now You may think I have a passion for
apples… Not really, but I SAW an orchard once. I even
had a wild apple tree in my backyard.”

Get it?  If you do, you can download my free ebook, Success In 10 Steps, and start finding out what you can learn from the MLM Growers Association.

Personal Growth and The Onion

Just like the popular cartoon character, Shrek, we are like onions.

shrek

Ogres are like onions, we have layers.”

Our personalities, our inner selves, are made up of layers, like an onion has layers.

As we work on our personal growth, we focus on different issues, major and minor, as they surface in our layers.

Our issues are not settled in our psyches in a chronological fashion.

We deal with old feelings, events, insecurities and hurts…what we call our baggage…on a very personal level.

It is all about our readiness.

Personal development (or self help) is just that, personal.  As you, the individual, work on your self and overcoming your old baggage, you will work on your issues as you are ready to at the time.

How do you know you are ready to work on something?

eye3

You will see it for yourself!  Whatever you are not ready to deal with, will remain invisible to you.

Then, as you keep working on your personal growth, different layers of your onion will be peeled away, and you will begin seeing issues you didn’t realize were there.

One of the best actions I have taken in my personal growth is in joining the Mental Cleanse.  I know I promote this group a lot, but it is with good reason!

I have been through the mental cleanse about 3 or 4 times.

I came to the place where I felt I worked as far as I could with the mental cleanse, so I stopped participating.

I still did activities to work on my personal growth.  I read motivation and self help books and I participate in other trainings.

onion

These actions have all contributed to helping me peel back more of my layers until I was ready to see the next major issue holding me back in my success.

As I spoke to one of my mentors about my revelation, she told me to do the mental cleanse again!

Well, of course, I thought it would be a waste of time, after all I have participated so many times before!

But after talking with my mentor a bit, I knew the wisdom in her advise.

So, today I will be on the mental cleanse call and I will speak up and participate.

I want to invite YOU to join me!

It’s easy, just go to http://www.30daycleanse.com/

  • sign up for the free program

  • download your free copy of Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich

  • read 1 chapter each week, you can start at any time anywhere in the book, so do the chapter we are currently on

  • write your personal thoughts from the chapter, your “lesson”

  • submit your lesson to the email address provided; if you do not want Michael to share your lesson with the others, include that in your lesson.

  • read the weekly email Michael sends out and read the selected lessons

  • join in on the mental cleanse group calls, every Wednesday at 3 pm and 5 pm EST @ 1.218.936.3890, PIN 300300#

  • participate in the conversations when you are ready to crack open your personal change

thinkandgrowrich

I look forward to seeing you there and sharing the experience of peeling away the layers of our personal growth!

CMP.ly Helps Bloggers With FTC Disclosure

Most home based business professionals who blog or otherwise have websites for their businesses are aware of the FTC Disclosure requirements passed earlier this year.

FTC

If you in any way, shape or form make money or have the potential to make money from content on your site, you have to disclose that to your readers.

This includes affiliate links or buttons and any kind of review you post on a product or service that you received compensation for.

Compensation could be receipt of a sample or actual payment for doing a review.

I found a terrific resource from CMP.ly that helps bloggers and website owners comply with the FTC Disclosure requirements.

Their four solutions programs are for Bloggers, Brands, Agencies, and Affiliate Marketing.

When you sign up for a free account with CMP.ly, register your site and then choose the type of disclosure you need.

cmply

The site has easy to understand explanations of which disclosure you need for which kind of activity you are doing.

  • Post contains author’s own opinions and he has not been paid or has no material connection.  Author may receive unrelated payment.
  • Post based upon a review copy or sample.  Author is not paid but did receive an item related to post.
  • Post based on a sample or gift received that author was not paid for.
  • Post based on an advertising relationship and author has been paid.
  • Author is an employee or a shareholder.
  • Author has included affiliate links on her site.
  • Custom disclosure allows author to create a disclosure that is not covered in the previous 6 disclosures.

{information excerpted from CMP.ly Blogger Solutions.}

They also give you tips on whether a disclosure can be in your sidebar or if it needs to be directly in the post.

It is well worth your time and effort to take advantage of this free service if you rely heavily on your blog or other website as a form of income.

Did You Plan For Your Business Like You Planned For Your Marriage?

The great inspirational leader, Zig Ziglar, once said, “Many people spend more time in planning the wedding than they do in planning the marriage.”

What does planning a wedding have to do with building your Network Marketing business?

wedding_couple_on_rocks

Everybody knows how much time and money a bride-to-be invests in her wedding. It is very easy to get caught up in the hype and be seduced by the glittery gowns, shiny limos, and fine foods to be served at the reception.

Before she knows it, the bill is $10K or more, and sadly…50% of marriages end in divorce.

If only the couple had put as much planning and effort into building a strong foundation and having support systems in place for the bumpy times.

Starting a Network Marketing business is a lot like planning a wedding.

We get starry eyed and hooked on focusing on our dreams. It is easy to get sidetracked with all of the glitter and hype.

We think we are prepared and have the guidance we need to succeed, but so often, many of us find achieving our goals and reaching our dreams far out of reach.

Then we quit.

Wouldn’t it be better to know there was a way to plan for building a strong foundation and have the support systems in place for the bumpy times in our business building?

Wouldn’t it be better to know how to succeed at being the 3% who actually make it in MLM?

There’s no great secret to this…no special person you have to become.

Be Yourself.

Be Committed.

Be Persistent.

Be Focused.

Be Informed.

What Facebook Groups to Join

One of the activities Network Marketers engage in on Facebook is joining groups.

When your purpose is to network with other people involved in MLM who you may want to attract to your business, you want to join groups relating to network marketing and MLM.

too-many-friends

You can also join groups whose interest is a particular company or specific lead generation system.

With these groups, the hope is to connect with others who may be struggling to make money in the company they are with.

Groups focused on more general topics like self development, internet marketing, or women in business, will have more members who are not involved in MLM.

While valuable for personal growth and learning, these groups are not as appropriate for finding potential business partners.

You want to join groups that are active.  Those should end up at the top of your search list.

Look for number of members and see if people have joined recently.

Look on the group’s site and see if the group owner posts events and discussions on a fairly regular basis.

Join_Us

Once you join a group, pay attention to the messages the group sends you.

About once a week is enough, otherwise it gets too time consuming and annoying.

Are they sending valuable content to help you solve your problems or are they spamming you for their opportunity?

If groups annoy you with their messages or event invitations, or don’t do anything at all (messaging encourages activity from other members) then leave the group.

Periodically go through your groups and leave the ones you are not active in or ones that are not growing or offering content.

Remember, your time is money.

As an entrepreneur building a business from home…probably part time along with all of your other life’s demands…you cannot afford to waste time.

Spending Too Much Time Online

Those of us marketing our home based businesses online often build up accounts at several social networking sites, traffic exchanges, article directories, and other sites commonly used to network with potential business leads.

It is quite easy to get distracted and and start wandering around in cyberspace.  Your time gets swallowed up without realizing it.  You also end up feeling fatigued and unfocused.

dreamstime_tiredatcomputer

Social Networking sites like Facebook and MySpace are notorious for taking up hours of time.

It is critical that you make a list of your daily marketing activities.

  • List the site,
  • Exactly what you will do on the site,
  • How much time you will spend there,
  • What time of the day or evening you will do it.

You have to stick to your list and not get distracted.

Once you are finished with your online marketing  activities, close your browser windows and walk away from the computer.

You may think you can surf the internet and find valuable content for your business.

Your time would be better spent contacting your customers, following up on your leads, and touching base with your team to brainstorm.

If you like to surf the net, schedule it into your activities and save it for after you have done more important things.

Last thing…always give yourself a day off!

You need one day a week to unplug from your business activities, turn off the computer and enjoy your family!

To be effective at building your Network Marketing business online, you have to keep yourself from getting lost in a virtual world.

Failure to Achieve a Goal

Here it is, just over 3 months after we all made our New Years Resolutions.

newyears

People have historically made goals on January 1st and failed to achieve them.  It is almost a given and widely joked about.

When we are in business for ourselves, particularly if we are running a small home based business, we often set goals for ourselves throughout the year.

Our goals include personal and business growth.

It is our intention that we achieve all of our goals.  We are a community of success driven dreamers who fully intend to reach those dreams.

goal

There are those times that we do not reach our goals.

I have just experienced one of those times.

A few months ago I made the commitment to enter the Ezine Articles 100 articles in 100 days.

I was on a roll, then things changed on the homefront and I  didn’t have the time to continue writing.

I didn’t meet the challenge of 100 articles.

100

What I did do was write 28 more articles than I had before the challenge.

Most of those articles are ones I wouldn’t have committed myself to writing had I not been in the challenge.

You see, we are better off when we set goals for ourselves, even if we don’t achieve them.

It gives us a personal challenge to grow and practice success.

If we do not meet our goals, it is important that we look at what we did accomplish.

By setting the bar high, as long as we work to reach that goal, we have achieved the goal of trying.

talkingmouth

As everybody knows, there are two groups of people:

1.  People who give lip service to success.
2.  People who push towards meeting goals.

So what is the next step?

Evaluate what you did.  Identify what worked, what didn’t, and what you need to do differently next time.

Then, set a new goal.

It really is that simple.

In the world of teaching it is called Review, Reflect, & Revise.  We must always be doing this to ensure that we are being effective.
