Passing Of A Legend … Jim Rohn

I was checking my emails today and saw that Jim Rohn passed away on December 5th.

If you received his Newsletters or followed his teachings, you know what an insightful, inspiring man he was.

jimrohn

Jim offered business sense and personal wisdom to all of us in this sometimes unstable and uncertain MLM industry.

For our success, BELIEF IN OURSELVES is the #1 skill we all must possess, cultivate and practice on a daily basis.  Without BELIEF, it doesn’t matter what company you are with, what product you sell, or which Billionaire is at the head of your company.

You MUST BELIEVE in YOU and in your ability to be SUCCESSFUL.

Jim Rohn offered those pep talks to help coach us to a greater level of Belief.  Rest In Peace to a great Leader and Mentor.

Below is the most recent Jim Rohn Newsletter…

” With great sadness we share that Jim Rohn, our mentor and friend, left us December 5, 2009 for a better place.

Over the past 18 months, in his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Jim assured us with a smile that all is good, that he would fight until the last breath, yet he had no fear as to what would be next. Jim’s faith was as much a part of his life as his desire to inspire and challenge us all to be the best we could be and to live our dreams.

Jim’s courage in his final months and days were a testament to his message that we should all fight the good fight. He never gave up and never gave in.

Jim Rohn touched millions of lives over the past 46 years through his seminars, books, articles and CDs. He always stayed long after an event t o shake hands, take pictures and sign autographs. He loved making a difference in people’s lives, that was his passion and inspiration. Yet he was also a private man who kept a small, loyal and caring inner circle. He was a tremendous friend to those who knew him.

Harold Dyke, long time close friend of Jim’s for over 55 years said it best, “As Jim is ending one life he is simultaneously being birthed into a new life. One that he has talked about over the years and anticipated with great joy in his last remaining days.”

Kyle Wilson, long time colleague and friend of Jim had this to say about his mentor, “Jim Rohn was a great human being. Jim had the rare ability to take any concept or idea and then frame it in such a way that the rest of us could see it more clearly. His wisdom and insights positively affected everyone he touched on some level and to so many of us it was in an extraordinary way. But even more impressive was Jim Rohn the man. He possessed style and charisma, yet was humble, kind and understated to all who knew him. I find myself every day reflecting, benefiting and passing on the wisdom and ideas that are rooted in Jim’s message and wisdom. Jim is irreplaceable on every level. I will miss him beyond words, but am comforted as I know he was, that his message and legacy will live on and positively change millions of lives over the years to come!”

Someone once said “when you are born you enter the world crying while everyone else is rejoicing and when you die hopefully you have lived such a life that everyone will be crying while you are rejoicing”. Jim Rohn lived such a life.

Jim’s family asked us to thank all of you for your concern, prayers and love toward their father and grandfather, which has been so evident during the past 18 months.

Darren Hardy, dedicated student and Jim Rohn protégé for more than 15 years, said of Jim, “He was the most influential man in my life, second only to my father. Jim cemented my philosophical foundation and nourished my mind with ideas and ambitions never before imagined. He chiseled my character seminar by seminar, tape by tape, book by book, then CD by CD, hour by hour. Jim emboldened my belief, in me and in my most daring dreams. When I fell and was bloodied, he was there with encouraging words to help me get back up. When I didn’t think I could go on, Jim convinced me I was stronger than I imagined. When I wanted a shortcut, he reminded me there aren’t any. Even when I got too caught up in trying to achieve and succeed, Jim compelled me to leave room to live, to laugh and to love.”

Stuart Johnson, business associate and long-time admirer, said, “I was first introduced to the philosophies and teachings of Jim Rohn almost 25 years ago. And he made an immediate impression on me. I was amazed by how this modest and unassuming man could communicate such an extraordinarily powerful message in simple and straightforward terms. In person, one-on-one, he was as humble and down-to-earth as he was in front of an audience of thousands. I will treasure my personal memories of Jim and know that I will forever benefit from the wisdom of this remarkable man.”

There will be a private funeral held in the coming days. Plans and details are also being arranged for a Public Memorial Service to be held in the Los Angeles area in the coming weeks. Details will be announced upon final confirmation at the Jim Rohn Tribute Site.

We know Mr. Rohn is looking down on us at this very moment with a smile saying I did it, I gave it my all, I went for it, now it’s your turn. Go for it. Make your life a life worth living well!

View a special tribute to Jim at the Jim Rohn Tribute Site produced earlier this year and debuted at the March 2009 SUCCESS Symposium. You are also encouraged to post your thoughts and remembrances of Jim on the Memorial Wall.

Jim fondly closed his programs with the following sentiments: “I go with you in all the experience that we’ve had. But I promise you this as we leave here: I will not leave you behind. I’ll take you with me in my thoughts and in my heart.”

100 days and counting

It’s official…Today…September 23rd…is 100 days to the end of the calendar year.

So what?

This is your chance to take part in a world-wide countdown to achieve your dream goal(s) by the end of this year!

you gotta have goals

Are you up for the challenge?
Are you up to dusting off some of those New Year’s Resolutions?
Are you up for seeing your goals become reality?

Good.  So am I.

So let’s start by writing down exactly what you want to achieve by the end of this year.

  • Define the “what”…weight loss, building your business, making a change in your environment.
  • Be realistic.  I need to lose 100 pounds, but that is not a realistic goal for the next 100 days.
  • Look back at what you have historically been doing successfully, then raise the bar enough so you have to jump to reach it, but don’t need to shoot yourself out of a cannon to get to it.
  • Be very specific, like “I will lose 15 pounds”, “I will organize the stuff in the garage and give things I haven’t used in 6 months to charity”, or “I will sign up 1 new affiliate and 2 new customers into my business”.  Your goals have to be measureable.
  • Write down the date you will accomplish your goals.  “By Thursday, December 31, 2009 at midnight.”

This is going to be fantastic!

Can you imagine how great your New Year’s Eve Celebration is going to be knowing that you set goals, worked towards accomplishing them, and actually achieved them?

Once done, setting your bigger goals, those for the year, will be much easier.

You will also be able to envision setting smaller goals….those with quarterly deadlines, monthly deadlines, or weekly deadlines.

Let’s get started now!

storytelling and your mlm success

A longtime Mentor and Successful MLM Business Man, Tom “Big Al” Schreiter, often teaches of the power of using Storytelling to help build your MLM Success.

When Networking with people you wish to make connections with, either as customers or business associates, telling a story helps break the ice.

A story…

  1. takes the focus off of the high pressure sales pitch,
  2. puts everyone on a more relaxed, personal level, and
  3. often helps to drive home an important point.

Let’s say, for instance, I was coaching you in an area of your personal development

You are having trouble focusing on your success. Many people important to you in your life have been nay-sayers, made negative remarks about your business venture, or simply have given you no support what-so-ever.

Discouraging, isn’t it?

To help boost you through these issues, I might tell you the following story…

A Bucket of Crabs
Who’s pulling you down?

{author unknown}

BucketofCrabs

Have you ever seen a bucket full of crabs? They pinch and pull as they struggle to climb over one another to reach the top of the bucket – to freedom.

Ask any fisherman and they’ll tell you that a bucket full of crabs doesn’t need a lid – they simply won’t escape.

Why? Well, it’s not impossible for a crab to climb to the top, and really if they worked together it would be quite easy. But crabs don’t work together

Instinctively crabs pull each other down-literally.

When one crab breaks away from the pack, reaching its pinchers toward the top of the bucket, the others promptly grab onto the escapee’s leg, pulling him back down. That crab is then pushed to the bottom of the pile and his dream of freedom is crushed. This is what we call the “crab mentality”.

People have a way of acting just like a bucket of crabs. Have you ever decided on a personal goal only to have someone in your life talk you out of it?

Do you have crabs in your life? A crab is…

  • The person who discourages you from going to trainings;
  • The person who scoffs when you mention your weight loss goals;
  • The person who snickers when you say you are going to work from home and make $5000/month or even $10,000/month and more.

The crab mentality says “If I can’t have it, then neither can you.” When you decide to do something different, to reach for a goal and to improve yourself, the crabs in your life will do their best to hold you back.

Keep Crabs at Bay: When crabs come snapping, remember the following:

  1. Ignore them: When someone in your life begins to pull you down with discouraging words, remember that you don’t have to listen. Don’t let them get into your head. Mentally tune them out or politely remove yourself from the situation. Who are they to tell you what you can or can’t achieve?
  2. Understand them: Ouch! Insults and put-downs hurt, especially when they come from people that we care about. So what is the deal? Why do your friends, co-workers and even your spouse turn into crabs when you decide to improve your life? Do they really hope that you don’t succeed? The truth is that crabs are thinking about themselves-not about you. They see you attempting to better yourself and to change your life. Whether they realize it or not, this scares them. If you better yourself will you still like them? Or will you leave them behind?
  3. You hold the power: Even the most persuasive crab doesn’t hold a candle to your iron will. When you are ready to change, and you’ve made up your mind without an inkling of doubt, then 90% of the work is done. Your mind is the most powerful tool at your disposal-don’t let a wimpy crab rob it from you.

Are you ready to make a positive change in your life? Don’t wait any longer. And don’t let a single crab talk you out of it!

It takes a team to make your dream work…give thanks

A friend of mine sent me the following story and I thought I’d share it with you.

“Who’s Packing Your Parachute” makes us stop and think about the team who is involved in our network marketing success

As a Leader in this industry, we owe it to ourselves and to those who support us through training, mentoring, and friendship to remember to give thanks.

And remember that a Leader’s downline is what builds his/her organization…give thanks.

21033~Parachute-Cats-Posters

An excerpt from

Aim for the Heart
by Tom Mathews

As a leader, do you honor and appreciate the power of WE? Do you stop to thank and recognize the members of your team? Do you consistently show an attitude of gratitude?

I recently read a great story about Captain Charles Plumb, a graduate from the Naval Academy, whose plane, after 74 successful combat missions over North Vietnam, was shot down. He parachuted to safety, but was captured, tortured and spent 2,103 days in a small box-like cell.

After surviving the ordeal, Captain Plumb received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit and two Purple Hearts, and returned to America and spoke to many groups about his experience and how it compares to the challenges of every day life.
Shortly after coming home, Charlie and his wife were sitting in a restaurant. A man rose from a nearby table, walked over and said, “You’re Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!”

Surprised that he was recognized, Charlie responded, “How in the world did you know that?” The man replied, “I packed your parachute.” Charlie looked up with surprise. The man pumped his hand, gave a thumbs-up, and said, “I guess it worked!”

Charlie stood to shake the man’s hand, and assured him, “It most certainly did work. If it had not worked, I would not be here today.”

Charlie could not sleep that night, thinking about the man. He wondered if he might have seen him and not even said, “Good morning, how are you?” He thought of the many hours the sailor had spent bending over a long wooden table in the bottom of the ship, carefully folding the silks and weaving the shrouds of each chute, each time holding in his hands the fate of someone he didn’t know.

Plumb then began to realize that along with the physical parachute, he needed mental, emotional and spiritual parachutes. He had called on all these supports during his long and painful ordeal.

As a leader, how many times a day, a week, a month, do we pass up the opportunity to thank those people in our organization who are “packing our parachutes”?

Everybody knows that success and abundance comes from gratitude and giving.  Think about it.

Wishing you the Success of a Lifetime!

What is the Two Word Answer that will make You Rich ?

Today I am going to share some incredible insight and wisdom from one of my mentors, Michael Dlouhy.
I hope this impacts your life as much as it has mine….
“Your Conscious Mind the one that remembers all the Algebra Equations, Time Traveled, Compensation Plans, All formulas, ALL the Stuff You Learn in College is the size of a orange.
This is the “SMART” part of Your Brain. The size of an orange.
The Stupid Part of Your Brain that is as dumb as a big box of Rocks. It is Your Sub-Conscious mind. It is the size of the entire World and the Stupid part of Your mind makes ALL, Yes ALL Your Decisions in about 3 secondsflat.
Your Sub-Conscious mind does NOT know the difference between TRUTH or a LIE, RIGHT or WRONG, LEFT or RIGHT. All You need to do to OWN Your Life is to Program Your Mind with The 7 Positive Emotions all the time.
  1. Desire
  2. Faith
  3. Love
  4. Sex
  5. Enthusiasm
  6. Romance
  7. Hope
When Your Sub-Conscious mind goes to the 7 Negative Emotions (found in Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill), click on the Bob Newhart Video below.
The 7 Negative Emotions.
#1.___________
#2.____________
#3.____________
#4.____________
#5.____________
#6.____________
#7.____________
I will NOT put the 7 Negative emotions in this blog post, because I don’t want to put them out to the world, the News does more then the world can handle…
So my Two word answer is:…. Stop It……”

To achieve success, You Must Become More.
More of what some of you may ask.
More of a Leader, more of a Winner, more of an Abundance Thinker.
I Believe In You!

The Power of the Master Mind

When I first heard this term, Master Mind, I was a bit skeptical. I had known about committees, task forces and such. But a group designed to “think” your way to success and riches?

As I learned more about what a Master Mind group is and how it functions, I found the immense value in aligning myself with my own Master Mind group.

I was introduced to the concept of the Master Mind, and ultimately to the Master Mind group I joined, when I started participating in the Mentoring For Free calls. One call in particular is the cornerstone of the foundation I am building my business on.

That call is the Mental Cleanse every Wednesday at 12 noon and 5 pm PST.
“What the…? What kind of hippie, new age stuff is this?” started running through my mind when I first heard of the call.
But, my desire to be successful in my business overcame my skepticism.
So, I got on the calls and started listening.
Then, as time went by and I got to feeling more comfortable with the calls, I downloaded the companion book used in the program, Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.

Some of you may have read the book.
But merely reading it is not enough.
You have to “read, THINK, and meditate as you read.”
This habit is what brings the actual benefit of realizing success from Think and Grow Rich.
I began to apply Hill’s teachings to my life, my past, my hang-ups, my “issues”. To the very roadblocks in my mind that were preventing me from being successful.

As I have continued with the Mental Cleanse, and the other free training calls Mentoring For Free offers (10 in all), I have found my Master Mind group.

A Master Mind Group is a group of like minded individuals, willing to lend each other “wholehearted aid, in a spirit of perfect harmony. This form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune.” ~ Hill

There are people in my Master Mind group from all over the world. I have never met them, except on the calls and on the web. When we come together, the energy is amazing!

Anyone in business, especially Network Marketing, needs to have a Master Mind group.
If you would like to learn more and come join us, give me a call at (541) 484-5455 (PST), skype me at ID karen.j.miller, or email me at k.j.miller.777@gmail.com.

During the Mental Cleanse, we read one chapter a week. It’s an ongoing process, so you can join whenever you’re ready, no matter what chapter we’re on.

Click here to receive your free gift for starting out on your road to success.

Thanks for stopping by!
